OK, I’m going to speed this up… I ultimately used mostly these cute but inexpensive (non-maple) frames from Amazon, the show was so fun, I sold about half of it, some of the paintings are currently available on Etsy (framed and unframed), and some new ones will be for sale this December at The Open Studio in Catskill, NY (and online). I also now have prints on Etsy, too! Like this “Mermaids of North America”:
The mermaids were inspired by some comics I drew this summer and recently published as a separate, 25-installment “newsletter”: Lake Mermaid. (Introduction post here.) It’s more of a blog, because I never sent any of the posts out. Initially I was going to restart this newsletter as if it were written by a mermaid, but then I just restarted it as myself. But I wanted to do something with all the mermaid comics. My favorite is probably the Sea Witch sequence. Many thanks to Logan Sachon, Carrie Frye, and Rachel Knowles for helping me edit this project.
And I did get a new website! Thanks, too, to the wonderful Ron Passaro for helping me with it, and to Ruth Ann Harnisch for the referral.
And thank you for reading! And sorry to cram all these links in one newsletter!
Is this an OK place to congratulate on your beautiful Vogue piece??
WHY NOT?!? I am loving this burst of creativity and momentum, Edith! You're inspiring me lately! Congrats on your first show, selling so much art, and moving toward a new chapter. 🧜🏼♀️
