Hi, I’m Edith, and this is a newsletter with comics and links. I’d love to know what you think; please feel free to reply to this email!

Runners World: “How to Run Alone Safely During Coronavirus.” For instance, if you’re being chased by an “aggressive, unleashed dog … stop running” and instead try “speaking to the dog, not turning your back, and avoiding direct eye contact, as the dog may view direct eye contact as a threat or challenge. If the dog continues to charge … dropping a piece of gear such as a jacket or a bottle between you and the dog [may] distract the animal and lure it to bite the item instead of you.”

“It’s always the beginning of the world.” I love Rob Brezsny’s weekly Free Will Astrology newsletter. Here’s an especially good installment. This week’s is also good.
“Loneliness is a problem of decision-making.” I liked this Less Wrong post about the “paradox of choice.”
“6 Fictional Homes Reimagined as Polly Pockets.” The Shining one is pretty great, but they all are. [Toy Zone]
I made this Jacques Pepin apple galette (using frozen Alison Roman pie dough from a few weeks ago), and it was great.
It was fun to be quoted in this NYT story about Substack and journalists/writers switching to newsletters from major media outlets: “Journalists Are Leaving the Noisy Internet for Your Email Inbox.”
Wow! The NYT! How great is that?? Also I love Rob Brezsny's Astrology - he's so creative. I needed his words for a tough time in my life. Astrology is not something I wholeheartedly believe in but it's fun and helps us when we feel stuck to think about waiting for something else to come along. There was one post he made on Twitter once that sort of burst the suspension-of-disbelief for me. He said "if you can't be nice be vague". Somehow it just made me think yeah, it's just vague. Ever since it just lost its magic for me. But it's still fun to read. He's a great writer.
