Hi, I’m Edith, and this is a newsletter with comics and links. I’d love to know what you think; please feel free to reply to this email!

“The Night Manager,” directed by Susanne Bier, originally broadcast on the BBC (2016) [Wikipedia, YouTube trailer]. Based on the 1993 John Le Carré novel.
Newsletter recs:
Wild Life. The artist Amy Jean Porter has started an animals- and art-themed weekly newsletter, and the excellent first installment is about turkeys.
Fridays on the oLo: Alex Olshonsky’s introspective weekly publication about “studying, celebrating, and elevating the human experience.” My favorite post is probably his addiction story: “Eventually, the drugs ‘stopped working,’ so I made half-assed attempts at getting treatment. … I started recovery outpatient programs and quit them in a rage, offended to be labeled and treated like a drug addict.”
Speaking of sobriety, I especially liked this week’s issue of recovery newsletter The Small Bow (where I do the illustrations!), featuring a gossipy interview with Philip Pavel, former manager of Chateau Marmont: “Add dollops of Adderall, cocaine, and booze to the mix, and you have a volatile concoction, bubbling and ready to boil over at any given moment. A missing package from a stylist to an actress that includes the custom-made purse she’s supposed to be photographed in on the Vanity Fair red carpet suddenly becomes THE MOST FUCKING URGENT EMERGENCY IN THE WORLD.”
Personally relevant: How to more effectively share a newsletter post on Twitter, or “Why Your Articles Aren’t Getting RTs,” from writer McKinley Valentine (of the newsletter The Whippet). [Writing Cooperative]
This is how I watch just about everything lately. Great drawings!!! We watched this a year or so ago and I remember having some of the same reactions.
