A beautiful story. When our children are born we re-discover freshly what is the world, what is life, and our place in the lives of our children. I love that you imagine you are a mermaid within yourself. I swim laps often in a pool and I imagine the water is my new friend. I sing songs to the water in my mind (which also helps to get to the 1/2 mile point in laps). The best of our imaginations propel us through everything and anything. Enjoy the week coming up. Your graphic-story drawings are delightful. ♥️
Birchbark sleeve. What a great term.
We should all keep more secrets except you.
lol

Love this!! Sometimes its the smallest things that feel like huge adventures!
This made me so happy 😍💕
This is wonderful. I've known those boulders with the small pine tree on top. Your work brings the feeling back -- it's remarkable! thank you
Probably a glacial erratic, left behind by the glaciers retreating 15,000 years ago. I love coming across them, like a message from the past. There's a famous one in Maine. https://digitalmaine.com/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=&httpsredir=1&article=1379&context=mgs_publications
I like that "colorful legend," too...
Whoa -- I had no idea. Gorgeous. Thank you, Ann!
Did you get any ticks on you?
Not that I noticed...
I loved your drawings and story and i will be looking for my next rock encounter. I drive to Florida from Idaho and i see some fabulous rocks.
I do things like that too.
Have you read Joan Lindsay's Picnic at Hanging Rock? Or watched Peter Weir's 1975 film based on her novel? It's got rocks, portals, mystery. An Australian classic. This little snippet should suck you in- it's only a minute and a half: https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=picnic+at+hanging+rock&mid=5D8249CD9A2D2E7F01CB5D8249CD9A2D2E7F01CB&FORM=VIRE
I think it might be right up your alley Edith. Please let me now what you think if you watch it- do not watch the 2018 series, it's not very good.
Whoa. I have not read or watched, but that clip is nuts! I'm intrigued. Thank you!
I love this!
Wonderful
