This is one of the best and most accurate things I’ve ever read about what it feels like to have a brand-new baby. And Edith I gasped at your mom referencing Little Fur Family, one of my son’s favorite books. “Bless you, my child” 😭 I’m so glad you’re doing well and letting all these feelings come. The fear being the flip side of the love is SO RIGHT. I felt that way too. It gets so much easier in that department. The love gets better and better and the fear gets a lot easier, or goes away, or you grow to be able to handle those feelings without walking around being so scared. Thank you so much for sharing all this. ❤️❤️❤️
Sending you alllllll the love! The newborn period is the most intense thing I've experienced. You're doing great! The drawings of your daughter are...wow. I'm so happy for you.
Oh Edith ... This story, this baby, might be the most beautiful thing you've ever made. Your lens on what happened so perfectly captures what I think is the experience of many parents ... deep existential awe wrapped in banal quotidian routine. Love the baby bat/monkey and love that you drew what we used to call "the one-armed burrito,' when they get one arm free from the swaddle LOL
