I’ve linked this before, but it’s meditation-adjacent so I’ll resurface Angel City Zen Center’s peaceful, infrequent Instagram cartoons.
Silver cord [Wikipedia]: “The silver cord in metaphysical studies and literature … refers to a life-giving linkage from the higher self … down to the physical body.”
Also, a question: Has anyone here gotten into Transcendental Meditation? I’m curious and tempted to sign up for a four-day introduction session, but it’s pricey. It sounds like it would be up my alley, though, and I like the idea of mantras.

Never did TM but there was a TM center next door to me in Cambridge growing up and I swear on my children's lives that I saw someone levitating through the window one day :)
I'm not a big TM guy. Here's what I usually suggest to people, my 2cents: do the free intro series on Headspace with guided meditations to learn the basics of vipassana (breath-based mindfulness, IMO the best method to start with). From there, you can "graduate" to un-guided timed sessions. And at first, just get comfortable. Sit cross legged on a couch for back support. The back does build strength, but if it's totally distracting, better to ease into it before blasting into lotus :) Really enjoy dis one, Edith
